A reason to smile

You say you want to be happy,

But you listen to sad songs sheepishly.

You say you want to be fit,

But you sleep through your gym-time shamelessly.

Oh, there are so many obstacles,

You surmise. That is there, this is there.

I am too tired, I am too lazy.

Then, why do you say you want to be happy?

I am depressed,

I have anxiety,

I am single, I am a mingle.

I am a loser, you satisfy yourself.

Yet, when somebody calls you out,

You fight back,

I am no loser! You retort.

But that spirit dies soon after doesn’t it? LOL.

You retreat and become a loser once again.

Only to come out and lash out at people

Who genuinely care about your wellbeing.

Don’t you see that they are speaking the truth?

You say you want to be happy, then be happy.

You say you are not a loser, then win.

You say you are fit and not fat, then exercise.

You say you are good looking, sorry but not sorry.

Stop the train of excuses,

Don’t join the bandwagon.

Excuses are for, not you,

But for the loser-society

(of which you are currently a member of).

So many, so so many,

Go about their day like

Cockroaches, desperately trying

To find a reason to be happy about.

Hey, you idiots, you want a reason

to be happy about?

How about the fact that you

Woke up today while so many others din’t?

This is me. As Charles Bukowski would put it - born like this, born into this. I don't like to talk about myself. I am afraid this is all you are getting now. I like to express myself through my poems, and stories and very soon another novel. I love you, my darling reader. So read on.
