Humans

On a bright sunny Sunday,

Standing on the balcony,

And looking at my neat garden,

I saw these things.

A mantis snapped up a beetle,

A sparrow snatched up the mantis,

A hawk scooped up the sparrow,

All the while a vulture waited in the shadows.

Hunter becomes the hunted,

And the cycle goes on,

And on,

And on.

I went into my air conditioned room,

Crashed on my bed, smiling,

Ah! No predators hunting me!

So, who exactly killed my dreams?
