The brave mouse tiptoed silently,
Clutching the waiting bell and a thread,
The angsty mice-crowd looked on,
Wordlessly.
The Cat would be belled.
And the many mice would finally know,
When the silent Cat would come,
Lurking next time around.
The mouse, having put,
the necklace of alarm around the cat,
Ran back to the burrows,
To the cheering faces of the many,
micey men and woman.
This was cause for celebration,
Somemice had finally belled the cat.
