The following idea/thought/concept is NOT mine. I am sharing this or rather explaining it because I found it extremely captivating and thought provoking.
Is there a solid proof of existence of a higher being? Are ghosts real? Do supernatural things really occur? People who claim to have seen ghost, are they bluffing?
The answer is plain and an obvious anticlimax.
This is the answer: You will never know for sure.
Explanation: (Forgive me if I failed to explain it properly)
Let us imagine a plain and perfectly smooth ground. Now, let us put two tiny ants on it. For no particular reason let us name these ants, ant A and ant B. Ant A is a peculiar ant because it has the ability to perceive only 2-dimensions i.e the length and breadth of all entities. So, in this case, the ant can only see and perceive the floor. It can pan it’s head left and right in 2-D plane only( it goes without saying that it cannot pan it’s head up because that would be a 3 dimensional view).Ant A, obviously, can move only on the (2-D) floor. Ant A, therefore, does not have any idea about a third dimension. Ant B is a special ant because it can see and perceive all the 3 known dimensions( height, breadth and length). Ant B (unlike ant A) can obviously jump up(3-D) and also move about on the floor. In other words, ant A can only move on the floor (left ,right, forward or backward) but B can move in all directions( left, right, forward, backward and upwards).
Now that the boring description is done, let me dive into the actual explanation. Let us assume a case where ant A is walking in front of B. A does not have a clue of B. Our naughty ant B decides to jump and leap ahead of A. In the eyes of B nothing special happened. But for our poor ant A something extra ordinary happened. A new ant suddenly came (or even materialized) magically in front of it. Where did B come from? ant A has no idea because it does not have any idea about a third dimension which is called the height. For ant A, a magical ant had just appeared out of no where. A supernatural event had just transpired in front of A. A ghost had appeared in front of ant A ? Or was it just another normal ant? Ant A has no clue at all. But for ant B, it’s just another day in it’s boring life.
Just like that, humans have the ability to perceive only three dimensions. But this does not, obviously mean, that other dimensions do not exist. There are other dimensions and when an abnormal thing happens, there is no way for us to perceive the reason for it’s occurrence. It might be a being capable of perceiving other dimensions. Or it can be anything. The truth is harsh and cold. Humans are restricted to perceive only 3 dimensions. This constraints us in our quest to understand many a topics. One such topic is : Are we alone in this universe?
You will never know. It is upto you to decide what to believe in. Welcome to the 3-D world of humans.
